Brackets & Ratings
- Tournaments typically have 4 divisions, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5/5.0
- Divisions will be bracketed by age, based upon registrations
- For DUPR ratings, the follow ranges are accepted:
- 3.0 = Anything up to 3.499
- 3.5 = 3.500 – 3.999
- 4.0 = 4.000 – 4.499
- 4.5/5.0 = 4.500 – 5.499
- The PCVG Tournament Committee will review any entries when the PCVG and DUPR ratings would put a player in different levels. For example, if a player has a PCVG rating of 3.5 but a DUPR of 4.5 and the DUPR has more current data, the DUPR would be used. If the PCVG rating is more current, then that rating will be used. Note: DUPR must have at least 30 matches or at least 60% reliability to be used.
- For the January and February tournaments, players must play in their own divisions. All remaining 2024 tournaments will allow players to “play up” one level. (For example, a 3.5 player may play in the 4.0 division).
Play Format
- Round robin with playoffs.
- Gold, Silver, and Bronze designations are awarded to the top three teams in each division.
