Refereeing in The Villages
The Villages has been training pickleball referees for over 10 years. We were involved from the start when USA Pickleball introduced their Referee Certification program in 2015. Our trainers can prepare you to referee at every level of play, including local recreation-level games, tournaments, Level 1, Level 2, and USA Pickleball Certification-ready.
Our training is for anyone wanting to better understand the rules of pickleball. Whether your ambition is to become a Certified Referee to travel and work with the top pros, or just to help out in local tournaments or the Special Olympics, we can train you.
Referee Training and Practice Sessions
- Schedule: The first and last Monday of each month at 2:00PM at the Ezell Recreation Center.
- Experienced Referees: Can referee or shadow.
- Beginners: Will be taught to control a match and work a USAP scoresheet.
USA Pickleball Resources
Everything you need is available on the USAP Website. Intro video, Rule Books, New Rules Revisions, Official Scoresheets, Rules Tests. Resources with ” * ” require USA Pickleball Membership for access (Referee Handbook and Casebook).
Whether or not you decide to become a Level 1, Level 2 or Certified Ref, we highly encourage you to become a USA Pickleball member to support the governing body of our sport AND to gain access to many resources ONLY available to members.
